Feast Night


He strode through town greeting no one and appeared as dead to the townspeople as the creatures that emerge on this night, with their voracious appetites. Tall and gaunt, his face was as ashen and pocked as the paper birch near the lake, his lips pulled back to reveal pointed teeth, and his eyes were hollowed dark sockets.
