GABRIEL

My contribution to ANOTHER BLOODY CHRISTMAS is Gabriel. Now, who is Gabriel? An angel? Something else? One thing is sure, he is not from this time and his mode of travel is ... different. This is a creepy tale, but it's also humorous at times, a little tongue in cheek :)

Go on, have a read, and then let me know what you think about Gabriel!

The Whispers of Christmas

The final tale in ANOTHER BLOODY CHRISTMAS is an intriguing maybe-ghost-story/maybe-something-else-entirely tale - nope, not telling you! Suffice to say, all is not what it seems and it gets even weirder when trippy Christmas pudding is imbibed! This is a great story, because you keep wondering - what the hell??? Poppet delivers quite the tale in The Whispers of Christmas!

The Secret of Hungry Summit Mountains

Today we highlight Hannah Ferguson's short story in ANOTHER BLOODY CHRISTMAS! This is a harrowing tale of a young girl and a secret. When her life changes one day in the most terrible fashion - a dirty old man in an isolated place ... - there are consequences. When she is lost in the mountains after a horrific bus accident, her life changes even more ... but the consequences of all that comes to pass cannot forever be kept secret. This is a hard-hitting story, but so worth reading!

On the Twelfth Day of Christmas

On the Twelfth Day of Christmas by Paul Rudd is such a trip into the imagination that it’s, well, trippy! A group of teenagers in the 80s become embroiled in a very dangerous game and it has terrible consequences on the real world. Mr Nobody is out to get them … and everyone else too, by the looks of it. How do teenagers extricate themselves from this terror? Read ANOTHER BLOODY CHRISTMAS to find out!

A Christmas Nerd

It's time for another unveil of the stories inside the covers of ANOTHER BLOODY CHRISTMAS! This time we're talking about Joanne Sexton's A CHRISTMAS NERD, and a humdinger of a story it is.

After losing her entire family over Christmas, Kylie has a horror for the season, until she meets a really cute IT guy at her works Christmas party. This short story has a proper dash of romance in it, but it seems the serial killer is not done … there’s quite the surprising twist at the end of this … and I’m saying no more!

A Corpse for Christmas!

Hello, everyone! Over the next few days I'm going to share a bit about each individual story making up our Christmas anthology published by Wild Wolf Publishing. There are 8 very British tales making up ANOTHER BLOODY CHRISTMAS and each will entertain you, for sure :)

T.K. Geering is first up with a brilliant tale - A Corpse for Christmas - set in Jack the Ripper London! From body snatching to strange disappearances, this has a bit of all things gory. From a pie maker and her prostitute friend, to grave robbers and cops going undercover, this is quite the treat.

The UK Crime Book Club actually bid for the privilege of gifting two names for this awesome story!

What's happening with Arcana?

I'm sure by now you might be a bit confused as to where and what the Lore of Arcana series is doing? This post is to clear it all up!

It began like this: In 2012 and 2013 the four volumes comprising the Lore of Arcana series was taken up by Wild Wolf Publishing (Thank you, Wild Wolf!!!) and released as ebooks. Based on symbols I sketched, brilliant designer Peter Fussey created awesome book covers for the series.

The time has now come for the Lore of Arcana series to go into paperback, and with the help of the genius of Poppet, we have updated the covers for these new releases.

Both The Infinity Mantle and The Kinfire Tree are now available in paperback.

The Drowned Throne and The Dragon Circle will be along SOON!

All links are in the sidebar ;)

The Darkest Hour holds Fire and Life

Rayne's cover - The Infinity Mantle

Tis the season, right?

Gallery Page!

Hi, all! Thought I'd nudge you to click on 'LORE Gallery' overhead. Many of the images used to showcase the LORE series are now there, along with links to albums on Facebook. I'm still combing through images on my computer and will update the page when I find more :)

Eagles

The Eagles are Guardians of the Dome, birds of normal size and agility. What sets them apart is their ability to communicate and the colour of their plumage. There are a few surprises in store for these birds, and not even the author saw it coming until it happened.

Eastern Ocean

As the name implies, the ocean east of Valaris continent. A well-sailed sea.

Eastern Range

Mountains at the coast in the east, below the Great Forest. An inspiring place. The Darak Or causes major damage to these glorious pinnacles.

Efur

Efur means ‘prophet’. He is a strange little creature living on Pendulim. He serves as guide to the Enchanter at one stage.

Emerald Sound

A natural deep-water in the south, a haunt for pirates.

Emleth Isthmus

The isthmus form one of two heads, the exit from Emerald Sound.

Enchanter

Magician, sorcerer, enchanter, it is in the degree of mastery. The Enchanter in Arcana is many things beyond the degree of mastery, and he is pivotal to the entire Lore series!

Ephnor

Strange little birds that inhabit the Three Gates (islands). When they move their feet make music. They cannot fly, or are afraid to, and are close to being sentient.

Celebrating Lore of Arcana

Arcana Alphabet - D

Dante

Dante is Dantian’s brother, father of Mitrill, and lives on Ardosia, the Valleur world beyond the Rift, when The Lore Series commences.

Dantian

Dantian is Vallorin of the Valleur on Ardosia. His name means Rift Breaker.

Darklings

Soulless creatures of darak that wield sorcerous yellow swords. As a host together they are known as the Darkling Horde.

Dark man

The dark man in Lore of Arcana often comes forth in visions and dreams. His tale will stand forth soon!

Deities

Valarians (the humans of Valaris) call the Immortal Guardians, the Deities.

Dome

The gathering place of the Immortal Guardians, a magical dome that floats in space.

Dragon

Now this is interesting, for there are parallels throughout Lore of Arcana (and the series following) regarding the concept DRAGON. There is the Valleur Dragon, a symbol of leadership (and much more) and there is the Dragon ogive in the Dome … and- well, perhaps you should read it!!

Drasso

A historical creature of darkness. Drasso sought to annihilate Valaris and the legacies of that war still plagues Valaris to this day.

Dune cruiser

Valaris is post-tech, and one day a dune cruiser is discovered in an underground shelter …

Camot

A Valleur and Ardosia’s war leader.

Canimer

The Sylmer homeworld, a water planet.

Care River

A placid river, a tributary of the Gasmoor R.

Centuar

Not to be confused with centaur from our myths and legends. The Centuar are Guardians of the Dome, and are four-legged creatures that communicate via mindspeak.

Chanticla

Chanticla is a lizoid seer Infinity manipulates into revealing secrets.

Chaos Barrier

A rent in the fabric of space reveals there are two universes. Protecting one from the other is a barrier of pure chaos.

Clanlands

The clans held the northern Meth Peninsula even after the terrible annihilation 3000 years ago.

Corridor Mountains and Pass

In the centre of Valaris, south of the Great Forest there are two ranges parallel to each other and together they form a corridor. Due to instability in the region, the pass that winds through the mountains is hazardous. Much happens in this strange place, both in the ancient past and at the time these tales are set.

Crease River

One of three rivers from the Lifesource; it runs into the ocean north of Two Town.

Cristi

A shy, young girl from the San clan able to hear another’s thoughts.
